Conference in Toronto: Pete has been invited to present a paper at the University of Toronto In August to the North American Association for the Study of Welsh Culture and History. The paper will examine the social history of certain Welsh forests and how this impacts on their visual representation.

Exhibition in Italy: Opening July 12th. in Laas, northern Italy, new work by Pete can be seen in a group exhibition titled 'Perspectives'. This new group of images examines the changing face of rural communities in relation to memorial, church and village halls which have formed an important part of the comunities within which they are located. The triptychs examine these structures, and also the physical changes in the villages within which they are located, to reflect the social evolution of those communities over the generations.

Forthcoming book: 'In Wildwood', is to be published soon by the well respected Swiss publisher Lars Muller. it will contain nearly 50 of the 'wildwood' series of photographs taken in Wales and the USA.

Exhibition: The full 'Wildwood' exhibition of nearly 30 large scale colour prints, plus a number of smaller images will open at Aberystwyth Arts Centre on May 24th. 2008 with the private view on Friday May 23rd. The exhibition will be opened by Professor Alistair Crawford, research professor at Aberystwyth University School of Art. Pete will be giving a public lecture relating to his work in the exhibition at the Arts Centre cinema on Friday evening, June 20th.

In October 2008 the exhibition will be shown at one of Europe's most important venues for contemporary photography, the FotoMuseum, Antwerp. Pete will be giving a lecture there while the exhibition is showing.

Radio broadcast: Pete can be heard talking about his work in a BBC Radio Wales programme about the influence of the mountain Cadair Idris on artists and writers. This will be broadcast on March 13th. 2008 at 18.30, and repeated on March 16th.  

Exhibition: Images from the 'Wildwood' series will be on show at Bolton Museum and Art Gallery from Saturday February 2nd. to Saturday May 3rd. 2008

Radio Interview: On Thursday August 16th. 2008, Pete was interviewed about his work on Cader Idris for a radio programme to be broadcast in the new year. The programme will feature a number of artists for whom Cader Idris has played an important part in their work.

Exhibition: Opening September 8th. to November 3rd. 2007, Pete's work on 'Cader Idris' will be shown at Carmarthen County Museum, Abergwili, Carmarthenshire. Pete will also be giving a talk, 'The Enigma of Cader Idris, tracing the history of the visual representationon of the mountain at the museum. The private view is at 7pm. Friday September 7th.

TV Appearance: As mentioned below, Pete wil be appearing on BBC2W on Monday February 19th. 2007at 9.45 on a programme entitled 'Lampeter Lives'

Lecture: On Tuesday February 20th. 2007, Pete has been invited to give a lecture for the Contemporary Art Society for Wales in Cardiff.

Exhibition: In March, opening March 17th. 2007, in Florence, Italy, Pete will have work in a group exhibition- 'Landed', with other members of the Centre for Photographic Research at the School of Art, Media & Design, University of Wales, Newport.

January 5th. 2007 Pete is being interviewed and filmed today for a BBC 2 Wales programme on Lampeter and some of the creative people who live in the area. Watch this space for transmission details.

January 1st. 2007 Pete Davis has just been awarded a CCAT, (Cultural Cooperation and Touring) grant funded by the European Community in conjunction with Wales Art International and Aberystwyth Arts Centre. This will be used to exhibit part of his 'Wildwood' work in Ireland. It will open at St. Michael's Theatre, New Ross, co. Wexford on January 21st., and then on to the Watergate Gallery, Kilkenny.
