Celtic Light

Celtic Light
Begun in 1987 after a first visit to Ireland and after several years of photographing the Welsh landscape, this body of work was conceived in an attempt to understand the influence of the landscape on the cultures of both nations. The history, literature, music and language of both countries have largely grown out of the nature of their respective landscapes and this work was undertaken within the framework of those histories. The work was supported by grants from the Arts Council of Wales and the Arts Council of Ireland, together with generous commercial sponsorship from B&I Ferries (now Irish Ferries) and several other companies. The exhibition toured the UK and Ireland an illustrated catalogue was published to accompany the exhibition.
