June:

Elin Jones MS, Presiding Officer at the Senedd has sponsored the 'City Stories' exhibition to be shown at the Senedd's 'Futures' Gallery. This is in the Pier Head building on Cardiff Bay and will be shown from October 1st. 2022 to December 9th.


May:

'City Stories' exhibition will open at the Found gallery, Brecon on the 26th. April and then be available for touring.

2021

December:

Begins printing for the 'City Stories' exhibition which will open at the 'Found Gallery' Brecon in late April 2022. Further dates to be announced when the exhibition tours to other galleries. Cafe Royal books will be bringing out a book of this work at the same time.


May:

Pete has received sponsorship towards materials to produce the prints for the 'City Stories' exhibition planned for next year from Silverprint.: https://silverprint.co.uk/

                  'Cynara'

April: The April edition of the magazine 'Offline Journal' www.offline.wales is publishing images and text relating to two of Pete's new publications, 'Silentium' and 'Cynara'. 

February: 'Cynara', a new book of fifty images of globe artichoke plants from Pete's garden is completed and released. 

2020
October: 'Silentium' exhibition opens at the Penrallt Gallery Bookshop, Machynlleth. A limited edition book of the work is also published containing over fifty images and each copy comes with an original print. 

August: Work is in progress assembling another body of work around a theme for another book to be published later in the year. 'Cynara' focusses on a subject that has caught Pete's attention for a number of years and this is an opportunity to consolidate this and assemble it into book form.

In addition to the exhibition 'The Expressive Land' opening soon at Ffotogaleri y Gofeb, an accompanying show will open in the adjoining bookshop gallery of some of the work in 'Silentium'. 

May: Pete has been using the lockdown period to review and edit a lot of past work and to make new, still life  images to add to this aspect of his collection. This has resulted in three new books that will be published later in the year to coincide with the opening of his one-person exhibition at Ffotogaleri y Gofeb. 

March: Pete has been engaged as a visiting tutor at Aberystwyth University School of Art, tutoring MA and Ph.D students.

Two one-person exhibitions are planned for 2020. 'City Stories' Photographs of Cardiff, 1969-1977, provisionally scheduled for later this year at a south Wales gallery and a show of B&W landscape work from Wales, Ireland, England and Sardinia at Ffotogaleri y Gofeb, Machynlleth, which was planned to open in May but now later in the year due to the pandemic and closing of galleries. 

January:  The National Library of Wales purchased a portfolio of prints from the 'City Stories' series for their permanent collection. The library already holds numerous prints from a number of Pete's bodies of work as part of their archive 

2019:
July: Pete was interviewed for a BBC Radio 4 programme entitled 'Art of Now: Tin Roof Symphony'. It will be broadcast on August 20th. at 11.30 am. It will also be on the BBC iPlayer shortly afterwards.

On Saturday March 30th. at Fotogaleri y Gofeb, an open question and discussion was held with the photographers represented by the gallery and in the current exhibition. Pete Davis, John Blakemore, Peter Cattrell, Aled Rhys Hughes and Marian Delyth. They took part in a discussion chaired by gallery owners Geoff and Diane and answered questions from the audience.
Pete will be giving a lecture on his life in photography and showing examples of his many bodies of work over a long career at the Ludlow Arts Society, Ludlow Assembly Rooms on Thursday March 7th.

2018:
Pete was at Ffotogallery y Gofeb in Machynlleth on Saturday December 8th. Between 10.45 and 12.45 to discuss his work with visitors who can 'drop-in' for coffee and a chat with him. The gallery is showing a wide selection of Pete's work until March in a group show with the photographers that the gallery represents. www.ffotogaleriygofeb.co.uk
Another Billingham camera bag for Pete as he was lucky enough to win a 'Hadley' bag in the Leica Society's raffle this year. The big bag in the pictures at the top  opposite is over 30 years old and still going strong.

March 2024

Four of Pete's prints from the 'Wildwood' series will be exhibited at the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery, Swansea, as part of the Wakelin Award' 25th. anniversary exhibition. Pete was a winner in 2002.


January 2024

A talk by Pete on the history and practice of platinum printing at Lampeter Historical Society being held at the University of Wales, Trinty St. David, Lampeter on January 16th.
