Two years extensive travel around the northern regions  of England and Wales revealed many aspects of these places.  Some grand and imposing while other, more prosaic locations were found to be even more revealing of the character of the 'north'. Clues abound in these images of how the indigenous populations interact and exist in these landscapes. I have always been interested in the way that these places bear the signs and carry the sometimes barely visible clues, as to how millennia of passage, inhabitation and work have left their mark.
